Magic's in the Makeup!

Last night I had my makeup trial. I told my man "I want Kim Kardashian. Smokey eye, a nice bronzed look". At first it was ALOT of makeup on my face. Plus false lashes which I've never worn in my entire life. Then finally it started settling in and everyone LOVED it. I tried taking pictures of myself after everyone left and I started peeling half of one last off lol

So here's my pics.

If that ain't bronzed... I don't know what is! lol You can't see here too much but my eyes were FABULOUS! Amazing! Overall I am happy. It made me very souped. And the more pictures everone took of me and showed me, the more I was like YUP! Cos my makeup looks awesome in photos.

Speaking of photos, with 11 days til the wedding we FINALLY found a place to take pictures lol cutting it close aren't we?

We've had alot of rain these past couple days and we'll be having more so that stupid grass will continue to be nice and dewey. But whatever. [I also plan in the next couple days to buy a cute, huge umbrella incase Jose and I have to take some photos in the rain.. any suggestions?] Jose liked the park too almost immediately so YAY! for that too

I'm glad that now Jose is really helping me out in the last preparations before the wedding. My boss is helping me out too by only giving me 30 hours to work. Which sucks cos I get less money but fuck it, I need this shit to get done!

Crossed ALOT of stuff of our list this weekend, feeling very accomplished :) now got some more little things to do. See ya!

Morning of the Wedding... Playlist?

The morning of our wedding is very important to me. It's going to set the mood for the entire day... and I can not be in a crappy mood! I need to be relaxed and calm and happy. I can not get stressed over anything. So with all my girls [and my mom] with me I'll all ready be able to handle things okay. But I wanted to add more to the hectic element that's the hotel room we'll be getting ready in. So I'll be wearing one of these gifted to me by my mom [in soft white of course]
I printed one of these to hang on our door... not sure why this would calm me but it does so sshh!
And make a playlist of music to listen to. This makes me the happiest since I'm ALL about music for our big day. And what better way to set the mood for the entire day then with music? So I've got some MUST PLAY songs but I feel like I'm missing some and need help! So here's my musts... and I'm open to what you guys throw at me.

Without Love - Hairspray [um... I'm a showtunes/broadway freak!]
Beating Heart Baby - Head Automatica [if you don't know this song you BEST be downloading it right now]
All Dressed in Love - Jennifer Hudson [from Sex & the City movie]
Wake Up - Arcade Fire [a MUST for me]
Marry You - Glee Cast
Beautiful Day - U2 [u2's my favorite band EVER and I cant find a way to stick them into the wedding good so they go here]
Accidently in Love - Counting Crows [jose & I LOOOVE this song]
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Cyndi Lauper [no explanation]
aaaand.. blank!

HEEEELP!! This playlist ain't even lasting me an hour lol and god knows how long we'll be getting ready for!

If I just breathe...

18 days and counting...

and I'm finally starting to get stressed out. Our schedule is so fucking off this week [meaning Jose's working THOSE hours while I'm working THEM hours] and I feel like we ain't getting SHIT done for the wedding]. But I'm not gonna stress myself out more by actually talking about it. ::breathes::

So here's our lovely little wedding bling. Our bands.
I love them. It only took me like oh... 5 minutes to pick mine. I knew right away. Jose picked 3 different ones from a catalogue, tried on 6 and found his pretty quickly too. We love them. And next my engagement ring I love it even more.
Jose had his bachelor party this weekend. I had the idea him and his boys should on a whim go see the Mets game then do their bachelor thing and they did. They went to a strip club, he got some lap dances and... he got bombed! I can not get to sleep lately so when he stumbled in at 4:30 AM and i was still wide awake watching The Social Network for the first time I was not prepared to see him literally stumbling in. I've never seen Jose as drunk [or hungover] as he was this weekend lol and I'm glad he was. Sadly, these guys are too cool to actually take pictures of their bachelor party [at least at the Mets game!] so all I've got is my little story from that night lol

Oh! And we have a new addition to our little family I'm so excited about. His name is George and I love him :)

I've eyed this little man for a looooong time now and finally on Friday when we went to the mall... I finally bought him! And he's so cute! Looks just like my Riddle :)

Hmm... Riddle's cuter actually

Wedding Paper Goodies

On Saturday Jose, my mom, Jose's mom and I got together to try and knock out a bunch of wedding to-dos. And we did! We got our bands [more on them later], we finished our favors [more on them later] and we completed our table numbers and most of the signs we need for the wedding. We had to run to Michaels for a couple back up supplies and not gonna lie... I finally got really stressed on Saturday but I'm glad things got done. And Friday - it's back on the grind again!
Anyway... thanks to Ms. Elephant on Weddingbee I FINALLY figured out what to do with the photo strips guests would be giving us from the photobooth at our wedding. I've been looking for MONTHS now for the perfect photobook... then Ms. Elephant gave me all the inspiration I needed. Fuck the book, just put it in a box! Not gonna lie but I almost completely ripped off Ms. Elephant's idea and signage but imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. So VOILA!

My red box is from the Container Store and the sign holder is from IKEA [bought 20 of them a year ago] and now guests will just throw their photo strips in our box and I'll just sort it out after the wedding. Perfect! And a close up of the sign...

Then we had to make a sign for the Candy Bar so bam! Done

Aaaaand table numbers!

Eleven to be exact [we have soooo many more guests then we expected coming, we had to add one more table!]

This is progress and I'm really happy. But we still got more to do! On the list for Friday night is:

- print and put menus together
- print and put programs together
- make sign for "card" box
- make signs for bathroom baskets

Aaaand I think thats it. I'm losing my mind. Theres still ALOT to do with this wedding not too far away.

Crunch Time

Guess how many days are left until we get married?
Actually it's 29... but close enough. Now it is officially crunch time. I've lost 10 lbs! I'd like to AT LEAST lose 5 lbs from now until the wedding... but that's not something I'm worried about. I'm worried about our little details. Saturday is a huge day for us to try to knock off a bunch of shit off our list like

- pick up our wedding bands
- put together menus
- put together table numbers
- put together signs for photobooth, candy buffet and bathroom baskets
- put together favors
- continue planning out seating chart
- possibly start putting together programs
- figure out final playlist for DJ
- print rehearsal dinner invites & send them

And that's all just on Saturday. It's alot.. and now I'm actually feeling a tiny bit stressed out. I've been wondering when all this wedding shit would finally catch up with me lol.

Yesterday Jose & I picked out a reading for the wedding that is so perfect. And so us. And now it's time for me to set up the ceremony lay out, type it out and give it to our minister [since this is one of my bosses doing our wedding and his first wedding we literally can do and say whatever we want. ah-mazing.]

And my final dress fitting is April 15. And I have no idea when it is... but my bachelorette party is coming soon! Gotta get some hot outfits :D

Wedding [chaos] Central

Here is our lovely little office room. Look closely at my bookshelves.. what do you see? [besides an entire shelf of all of Jose's Mets memorabilia.]
At the tippy tippy top is allll our wedding stuff
That's a lie actually. There's more on top of our computer desk!
I've been trying to keep it as organized as I can for this entire year and a half we've been engaged... but now I'm feeling out of control. I didn't take a picture but our bathroom baskets are on the floor. And I'm pretty sure that's not all that will end up on the floor. But there has been progress! Like we all had our fittings last Saturday and I took home my one bridesmaids' dress with me :) so pretty
And Jose's Aunt in Puerto Rico who I never met was nice enough to make me a garter [with my something blue in it] and a hankerchief... not sure what I use the hankerchief for but thanks titi! [it is sooo hispanic looking! but i like it :) ]
Aaaaand... thats about it! Oh and our honeymoon is paid in full :) So just so I don't lose my mind I wrote myself a list of everything we have to do [and this isn't really everything... but ima add more to the list as our day gets closer] It's hanging in our dining room so I see it every day. Sick I know.
How long til my wedding? 35 DAYS!!!
I've been talking about this wedding for soooo long ... can't believe it's THAT close. Ooh and the bridal shower is on Sunday! I might just make one more post to show you my outfit I have picked out :)

I want candy!!

A month or so ago I mentioned how I really wanted a candy bar at our wedding. Yes its played out... and yes everyone's done it... but I'm pretty positive that NONE of my guests have seen this! So I want to blow their minds. We met with our venue and they are totally hooking it up for us! We are SO having a candy bar [they are supplying ALL the containers!] and not only that but popcorn AND cotton candy! [all for freeee!!] lol Sounds good to me! So now all I gotta do is buy the candy! At first I wanted the "black white and red" candy bar to go with our theme for the wedding. But the more I look... the more the bright colored candy bars are damn cute!

Adorable little popcorn containers lol is this too much??

And something I soooo badly wanted but figured this was going overboard
A SMORES BAR!! I'd DIIIIEEE!!

Seriously!!! But no :( that's a bit much. And i don't know where the hell it would go. And we're getting married in April. I think smores... I think summer. [though I will have them right now!]

My wedding hair trial - awesome!!

What up!! It's Monday and it is 10 degrees in Jersey!! FREEZING!! I'm posting this REAL QUICK while Jose is in the bathroom to show you how my hair trial went for the wedding and seriously - it couldn't have gone better. I am SOUPED and absolutely loved my hair!! This is the picture I showed my girl that I wanted just not to look as "undone"

And this is what we got! [with my birdcage veil and my flower hair piece I freakin love]
I'll keep the flower in my hair for the reception and just the flower alone is gorgeous
 And the back!
I was nothing but smiles!! My girls did their trials too and I'll probably show you theirs later but I really am souped about mine. And for some reason it really felt real like the wedding was coming yesterday... when I saw the hair done, the veil on... I was like "whoa!" And it's happening in 96 days [says my countdown on the knot]

Probably my only Wedding DIY!

Sorry! I've got ANOTHER wedding post. This isn't a "wedding" blog - even though I'm a brown-eyed-bride-to-be. In fact... what the hell does my blog be called once I'm actually married?? I gotta figure that one out. Well anyway, we are having a photobooth like I mentioned a WHILE ago. And I want props. I ALMOST bought this kit from this Etsy store
Good thing I didn't cos when I went to Michaels yesterday and walked past foam - it hit me. Foam + scissors + extremely artistic fiance = DIY Photobooth props! And when I explained the plan to Jose - he grabbed the scissors from my hand and promptly sat himself at the dining room table to get started. This geek, I swear!
As of now - we've got 8 props on a stick! And we ain't done! He designed while I hot glued it together :D Soo what did he make?? Um a mustache
 Glasses!
[and a harry potter lightning bolt for himself.] We got a white mustache and beard, lips, a ninja head scarf and my favorite... BATMAN!

C'mon! DUDE!! The batman is dope!! I told him he should make Wolverine's claws and he was souped for that idea lol we are kinda nerdy :) But I KNOW with our friends - this is a genious idea. And one I only paid $6 bucks for! BooM!

My birdcages! Mah mah, MAH BIRDCAGES!

The other day I came home to this big ass kinda crushed but whatever box. I was souped.
Why this box contained my 2 birdcages I ordered for the wedding!
What the hell am I using birdcages for at my wedding?? Um... card holder!
picture from wedding bee

Yuuup! SOUPED! I've been crazy busy with work and a LOT of wedding stuff! But Ima try not to ONLY post about my wedding.

I'll take you to the candy shoppe!

I've been trying to get Jose into the idea of having a candy bar for our wedding. He's actually saying we "might" be able to do it which sounds awesome. And then last night I was explaining it to my mom and showing her these images... and she was sold! "We gotta do it! It's great! It's cute!" Holla!!

all images from wedddingbee

The awesome thing about us having a candy bar at the wedding is our colors would be black, white and red and since ALOT of Valentines candy is red and white - we can buy alot of it at 75% off at the end of February from our jobs at CVS! Right there is a bargain! lol C'mon!! We should do this shit right??

Oooh! Flowers!

I will now attempt to show you the "mock up" of our centerpieces for our wedding. I'm attempting this because asshole me left my DSLR at home and the point and shoot's battery was dead. So these are all cell phone pictures. I know. So gross.
Soo waaaay early in the wedding planning process, Jose & I figured out pretty quickly that we were into submerged flower centerpieces. And when we found our florist who said he could give us exactly what we wanted for an unbelievable price, we booked it. And last week we got to come in and check out how the flowers will look [bouquets and all! but the only pictures I have on my cell phone are the centerpieces. Jose's got the rest]

So the below picture is a picture my mom took with her phone at a wedding she went to in October and I showed my florist and said THIS IS BASICALLY WHAT I WANT... with our wedding colors!
Everything. The candlelight around the vases, the glowing lights IN the vases. And an added effect... a floating candle on TOP of the submerged flowers as well. Yes I picture LOTS of candle light at my wedding. So without the lights - here's what we had
[Oh... it was later filled to the top with water so no panicking cos i didnt lol] Can I tell you how SOUPED how I was?? Jose thought it should be Square Cyllinders instead of round ones and I ended up liking it alot. And they are HUGE! like the big one is 22" tall!
All around the vases will be 4 candles, crystals on the table and rose petals
A close up of the smaller vase which will have no candle.. just LED light. Ooh! and those are the roses that will be in the bridesmaids bouquets
And a closer look at the middle vase with the candle floating on top now
And we didnt put the LED lights in BOTH vases or lit the candles around them... but just seeing this got me SOOOO excited!
I know it'll look waaaay better the day of and waaaay brighter so I wasnt too concerned. The overall image is just what i need :D SOUPED!!

You suuure none of y'all wanna be invited?? It's gonna be dooopppeee!!!
