The night my dreams came true...

I pretty much almost fainted when Jose and I were randomly walking through HomeGoods [a store we haven't been to in over a year! We haven't had a home to fill with goods :( ]. There it was. All alone and gorgeous, like it was planted there for me.

A beautiful white pouf. In the exact color I've wanted it in for years. At only $128 dollars! WHAT!? I threw it in my cart and literally started jumping up and down. If you know me - you know the little things in life make me happy and I was ecstatic over this pouf!

Jose is trying to get me to put it in our storage facility until we get our house in a few months. But hell no. I waited this long for a pouf, I'm not going to tuck it away now!

Just a few images I've pinned through the years with a pouf in them... dreaming one day!

They might seem like a "trendy" piece to some people but this baby is mine forever and ever and right now, I'm a happy camper :)

My Office [or HALF of my office]

The other side of my office is not clean yet so I'll just show off a preview. I love my black framed gallery wall [I have a white one on the other wall] and my expedit makes life much easier and organized.

The Big Reveal!

Saturday and Sunday were spent performing magic at my mom's house. And here's the final product!

It is now basically a totally different room, much more organized. I designed the entire room on a budget for my mom and she didn't know what ANYTHING was going to look like. And she loved it! Whoo!

Here is the set table as my mom saw it. The table, all the chairs and the rug are from IKEA!

The chandelier is from IKEA too but it is such an amazing lighting piece. It actually hung much lower but our friend/electrician figured out to way to bring it up higher. It really is the pop in this room. Compared to her ugly white ceiling fan before!

The clock over my mom's piano is probably my favorite wall. It works perfectly. And that's all she said she really wanted in the room - a clock! We got it for $30 at HomeGoods!

The table setting is from IKEA as well. My mom desperately needed new plates so we bought her a set of 6 settings for $20! The napkins are from target, the glasses from homegoods.

The buffet is an awesome piece and the fact that the wall above it is open and this gorgeous shade of blue is such a breath of fresh air to the room, and the house! The buffet is from IKEA!

I looooove this mirror and it accents the other wall color so perfectly. The mirror and the vegatable prints are from Home Goods!

My mom has a TON of glassware and this handy dandy corner in the dining room. We took out the old shelves and replaced them with brand new ones [which Jose cut to size] and voila! Extra storage for all that glassware!

This corner was cluttered for YEARS and and now it's all organized! The nesting on the wall is from HomeGoods and it holds all my mom's piano books :)

Another close up of the clock :) OOh and the candle holder is from Target!

The coolest thing is this piece I bought at HomeGoods. I guess it's considered an end-table but in this room it's working as her bar. And it fits in PERFECTLY! I LOOOVE this table!

This room is so beautiful now and I am SO glad my mom really loved the way it turned out. And on Monday when all our family came over for Memorial Day, everyone couldn't stop RAVING about how amazing it looked. And I think I'm up for hire now :)

Anyone interested in using my design services?? lol

Gimme Dollar, Gimme Dollar!

I love my some Michaels. It's a dangerous store though. I can drop hundreds of dollars in that store. So when I brought Jose's mom there the other day I was nervous. Well I spent some dollars all right... like 20! From the dollar section.
Michaels' dollar section is off the hook. The shit you find there is insane. I've found so much. I might have to do a seperate post about all the other shit I've gotten but for now I'm showing my favorite things I bought the other day.
Like this small morroccan dish... $1!
Perfectly holds my ring in the bathroom when I shower, wash my face, yada yada yada..
And then I bought cute plates and coasters. Each a dollar!

Perfectly matching on my dining room shelves the new pops of color I'm trying to bring into the house for spring and summer. We had alot of warm colors in the winter, time to stock up on greens and blues.

Ahhh... this is MY living room :)

Yesterday I showed the steal of a chair we got in the as-is section at Ikea. And I complained about ordering my new rug and waiting for it to arrive. Today, it came! And I love it! So let's look at a before of the living room...
 And the AFTER!
The room feels so much brighter with the chair and rug these much bright pieces than what we had.

I got the rug from K-mart [can you believe that??] for $82! Everything's a steal here! We've really learned to become bargain hunters lol I must say, I'm very proud of Jose & I! We weren't good when we first moved in 2 years ago at "buying cheap" but we do it and we do it good!
HOLLA!! Now I'm waiting for Jose to get home so he can tell me what he thinks [since I basically bought the rug without his looking at it] All we need is some nice springy pillows on the living room and bam! DONE!

Yellows, Blues & Greens... Oh My!

Jose & I plan on buying a house in the next year or two - after the wedding is over and we can concentrate on our finances. And this entire time, I'm really trying to figure out what my "home style" is. I've always really been into bright colors and pops of color but have never liked it more than this house I saw on Apartment Therapy the other day.

Everything about is appealing to me. The bright living room, the bright amazingingly organized kitchen [check out that awesome floor!!], the pops of blue and green against the bright yellow, the black and white against the greens... fucking love it ALL!

However... I know this is a style Jose would never be open to. So I will live in my bright colored dream house vicariously through this Apartment.

Gray is Sexy bitch!

Soooo a couple months ago I blogged about my mom wanting to take over my old room and change it up into a guest room. Well... after painting the walls, buying some furniture, buying a bedspread and curtains and adding some DIY artwork - it's basically done. All she wants is some punches of yellow on her bed and on the walls and BAM! Ya got yourself a little guest room paradise

Love love love it. In fact, kinda wish I still slept there :( Dying to steal the amazing Ikea bookshelf from her and Jose is sooo upset I didn't choose this gray in our room [but I do NOT recommend Glidden paint. Sorry, was not feeling it] OOh and the artwork on the walls is just scrapbook paper framed. Awesome.

If this was your bed...

Yesss my bed! My new comforter I showed off a week or so ago...

Well it needs some decorative pillows. But I'm finding so many I like I don't wanna pick the wrong one!! So which do you think I should get??

A lilac pillow from Urban outiftters that would blend it with the gray and go with the walls.
A black and white [reversible] pillow from Target that will bring a POP of color but still go with the gray and purple
Or a real big pop of color! With these mustard yellow pillows from Urban Outfitters
Honestly I am LOVING the yellow and would get maybe 2 of them to go behind the decorative pillow I all ready have on the bed and maaaybe the black and white one's too! Am I thinking good??

My bedroom can suck it!

Dude I am tiiiired... and posting this post about my bedroom is making me even MORE tired. See... my bedrooms been a work in progress like most of our rooms. Except I've paid way more attention to all the other rooms in the house. The only thing I did in our bedroom is hang nice little IKEA Mirrors over the bed. But the thing that bothered the SHIT out of me is the ridiculous comforter I bought for us when we moved in together 2 years ago...

We always painted the room a nice lavender purple... and we always had this disgusting tan comforter. Its comfortable as hell, its the only reason why I didnt change it right away. But this weekend all of that changed when I kicked my bedspreads ass off my bed and got a new one.
And yes, Hitchcock looooves it. He immediately jumps on any new pillows, blankets, furniture we get to test it out. And he approves. Got both the comforter and little pillow from Target. Definately hitting up home goods to get some more accent pillows. [and on the left you'll notice my jewelery organizer "work in progress" i promise im not straight up stealing Allison's idea. like i said, work in progress. and hers is seriously inspiring]

Do you know how happy I was I FINALLY got something that went with the colors of my bedroom?? I took this happy picture of myself, yes.
Eww my eyes are scary looking. Whatever. Thats not all. I am NOT done. Besides my jewelery organizer, I plan on getting 2 nightstands [my mom bought these 2 from IKEA, and they're awesome] I have one but Jose does not and it bothers the SHIT out of me. And he hella needs one.

Also I got lots of sparkly accents on the dresser and on any other places I can stick it, I wanna stick a sparkly mirror on the wall. And I've been eyeing this one for our bedroom for MONTHS!! It's only 20 bucks... WHY DONT I OWN THIS!??!!

On top of that, we need new lamps. 2 new lamps. Maybe sparkly ones too to go with our purple/gray/sparkly theme. And new curtains. But thats another day. And on top of that, our bedroom is the smallest bedroom you can imagine. I swear... I dont know why we even bought a dresser. It barely fits. Ay!

Okie... gonna go lay down on my new comforter. Its f'ing hot in Jersey yo!
