Leather, Suede & Printed Loafers!

When I recieved the newest J.Crew catalogue in the mail, it was like any other day. Until I turned to page 56 and literally gasped out loud of the sight of two fun and perfect looking loafers... than quickly shared it on Instagram :)

And now I am obsessed. I need these shoes. At least one pair. My long time followers know my absolute love of loafers. They are incredibly comfortable, flattering and so cute! And they don't seem to be going away anytime soon. This is my "investment pair"... thats what I keep telling myself to justify the purchase :)

Which color would you buy?
I'm completely in love with the stripes!

Current Obsessions

I've come to terms with the fact that this blog will never be a weekly thing. There's just too much on my plate these days and something has to give. The good news is I have another blog I write at, our photography blog which you can find and comment on HERE. The bad news is I have another blog. But nevertheless, this blog is MINE and about what I like so every once in a while when the inspiration hits - I'll come back and share what's new  :) And I felt it appropriate to start with what I'm loving these days.

- We literally got these Nivea lip butters into our store on Saturday. I took them out of the box, put them on the counter and promptly put two aside for myself to buy. And when I tell you it is THE BEST lip butter out there - believe me! It is

- If you aren't watching GIRLS, you're crazy. It is the best show on TV right now & so real and of this time. THIS is what our generation is! It has filled the void in my heart that has been empty since Sex and the City went off HBO - and with the second season now on, I'm a happy camper :)

- These Maybelline Color Whisper lipsticks are great - because they aren't your normal lipstick. They are sheer and light and the perfect hint of color for the lips without being too heavy.

- Target is on point lately with their flats and these flats are THE MOST COMFORTABLE. I didn't even get blisters breaking them in! That says a lot! They come in a few colors and almost look like ballet flats :)

- I am obsessed with this bag. Mostly because I don't have it - but I keep telling myself I need it especially for our upcoming trip to Disney World. What makes carry ons cuter? This bag!

Fall Must Have: Dark Lips

One of my must haves for fall is dark lipsticks - something I've never truly embraced but am really into this year. I love how a bold lip color can completely transform your look and make you look so chic all at once. The great thing about dark lipsticks is they come in a variety from dark nudes & browns to dark pinks & reds so any color skin can rock them :)

Will you be rocking dark lips this fall?

Get Tinted!

Today Jersey is dealing with hot, hot heat [97 degrees today! whoa baby!] and this is not the time to be thinking of all the makeup to pile on top of your face. In the summer, it's all about putting as little makeup on and still feeling sexy. Thank god for tinted makeup. It's a great way to cover up and feel put together without feeling like it's weighing you down. I own three of these products and use a different Stila bronzer I just got in my Birchbox [which I LOVE! check it out HERE] so I swear by all these products :)

It's HUMP day!! We are out tonight enjoying this hot ass day with our friends! What are you doing?

2012 Resolution: Better Skincare!

Another one of my resolutions and goals is to take better care of my skin and use better products. With winter, my skin acts up like crazy like most people. My lips get insanely dry, my elbows and knees ashy. My hands? Terrible! And my skin this year has been even worse this year and it's not even that cold yet! I've been stocking up on some new beauty products as well as restocking on some old favorites.

I don't buy anything without consulting my sister in law, who is an esthetician. In fact, she has a beauty blog! Follow her here... it's still in the beginning stages but listen to her! She knows her stuff. She has recommended and told me about most the products I use now! [like she introduced me to kiehls, sarah happ lip scrubs and BLISS products... and a lot more!]

Dazzlesphere Stocking Stuffers

Looking for any last minute stocking stuffers for the girl who loves Beauty? [or just wouldn't mind some fun beauty products in their stocking] MAC can do no wrong in my eyes. They are the creme de la creme when it comes to makeup and these Dazzlesphere's are a genius idea for stocking stuffers! Or hang them on your tree as a little suprise for your BFF! Ranging from $25 to $36 they cover all the beauty basics. Lip. nail & eye pigments. Way to spoil a girl!

Love me some Flats

As much as I love heels, I'm also crazy about flats. (I wore them to my wedding so I couldn't be taller than Jose!) They are what I wear to work! And sometimes comfort wins over cuteness. But these flats are pretty damn cute and I don't think we ladies are sacrificing anything when wearing these!

NYC winter outfit

The next couple Saturday's we will be going into Manhattan for some festive activities (one is seeing the Radio City Christmas show! Another is our friends birthday). New York City in the winter screams for the perfect outfit. Lots of walking, cold and brisk weather and you have to look perfect for pictures! This is what I'll be trying to wear (because I don't do good in the cold... so I'm not sure a faux fur vest is enough to keep me warm)

NYC winter outfit

Rag bone cable knit sweater

J Mendel fur vest
£1,749 - farfetch.com

And I scored the PERFECT white faux fur vest for only $15!! A way better steal than the J Mendel vest.

The Worst Beauty Products!!!

The other day I was driving to work thinking about all the beauty products I've tried over the years. I work in Retail and 4 of those years in Retail were in the Beauty Department. We were encouraged to try all the brands we sold in our stores and upsell the products that we loved. But this isn't a post about THOSE products. This is about the others, the losers, the ones that just blew my mind away by how BAD they were! So here are some of the standouts in my mind of the Worst Beauty products I've ever tried [at a drugstore]

Sally Hansen No Chip Top coat.
Um.. it chips! By the next day! I use base coats so don't give me that. I hate this top coat with a passion.

L'oreal Telescopic explosion Mascara
We were all given samples of this when it first came out to try and than push the sales to customers. I tried it, one eye came out really good. The other eye, sloppy as hell! When I tried to take it off, it smeared like crazy [even with eye makeup remover]. I used it twice. My beauty advisors both complained about it too to me.

NYC Mineral Bronzer
I love Bronzers that automatically come within the brush. This was only like $5 I think? So I bought it to see. It came out with the bronzer piling on my skin so thick! I looked orange! It was terrible! It was messy too, got all over my shirt. I threw it out instantly lol

I suffered with serious Acne in high school. Now, it's under control but every once in a while I have a pimple pop up and need a quick acne treatment that will get rid of it immediately. My skin almost immediately became dry, red and irritated by this product. And it stayed that way for a couple days. If your skin can tolerate the benzoyl, I guess it's okay to use but my skin is NOT good with this product and I hate it cos of that.

Revlon Liquid Lipstick
The name just sounds gross doesn't it? lol I was really intrigued by this product when it came out. I can not even explain what happened when I put it on my lips. It was soooooo liquidy it poured onto my lips and ONTO MY TEETH! I was so disgusted by it.

Have any of you tried these products??
If not, what's the worst beauty product YOU ever tried??
I'd love to be warned!!

Craving - Winter Coats!

Yikes... daylight savings. Night time comes too early now (what?? dark at 4:30pm??) and it gets colder a lot earlier in the day. Every year I find myself looking for a new coat and this year is no different! I'm not into jackets or parkas but more a big, warm, wooly coat! I get very cold, very quickly so I need something serious. And everyone has something to offer right now. Especially in bright pops of color which is exactly what is up my alley :)

1. J CREW - $298.00
2. Asos - $100.00
3. Zara - $169.00
4. Lulus - $99.00
5. Forever 21 - $49.80

Not gonna lie.. I might go buy the Forever 21 jacket tomorrow. It looks too good to be true!

Another monthly club to join

This time: Birchbox.

So far so good. I LOVE my Ahava foot cream, it smells so good and feels amazing. The redken hair mist smells funky but I like what it does. And purity feels so good on your skin.

The only one I'm completely clueless about and haven't tried yet is the Blinc Mascara. Has anyone tried this? Can anyone explain this to me? I haven't opened it yet lol maybe I should just try it.

So far, so good. For only $10 bucks, I can't wait to see what I get next month!

Craving - Cable Knits

I love the look and feel of cable knits for fall, and mostly for the cold Jersey winters. They are so warm and snuggly, almost like your wearing a blanket. Nothing feels nicer on your skin. Right now, cable knit is everywhere and I want it all. Especially a cable knit blanket. Nothing sounds better than watching my bravo TV with a cable knit blanket and some Keurig hot chocolate!

2. urban outfitters
3. forever 21 - $29.90
4. gap
5. j crew
6. pottery barn throw - $79.99

A LUSH birthday!

Friday night was spent at the LUSH store celebrating Esther's birthday with our close girl friends. It was really small and intimate but so much fun. We got $25 gift cards, free facials and arm massages. LUSH is an amazing store and if you haven't tried any products, RUN and try it! The prices and quality are too good to beat.

Looking forward...

With the east coast hurricane hitting us this weekend [and me working entirely through it], this weekend is not looking good for me. Doesn't look like I'll be doing much. So with today my day off I am out to do a little shopping and feed me fix. What's on my radar lately? New blazers. The other day my sister asked if she could borrow one but all I had was black, grey and tweed blazers. So I'm on the hunt for fun new fresh ones. And that mustard one from Zara's is calling my name.

On my radar: cross body bags

Today Jose and I spent the day out and about shopping in NYC [more on that later]. I was on the hunt for another cross body bag. Turns out I found one in my mom's closet from the 1980s in amazing shape and super cute. I rocked it in the city today, it's black... and now I'm looking for another color. There are endless options right now since this is one of the "it" bags for fall. I love it just of how super lightweight and easy they are to lug around compared to my usual big bags.

I didn't end up buying one today, mostly because I'm torn over which one to get! Which one's looking fancy to you?

Monday, Monday... So Good to Me!

Yesterday was my day off and it was lovely. Spent with lots of retail therapy. LOTS of it. I was supposed to go shopping with my girlfriend but she bailed on me last minute... so Jose brought me instead. What a fabulous husband, I swear!

And I realized I have this strange love for stripes lately. I bought 3 striped shirts yesterday!

Than we randomly decided to go to the movies and see X-MEN FIRST CLASS and it was awesome! I love ALL the X-Men movies so this one can be added to that list.

Who knew Magneto and Professor X were some hotties when they were younger? Especially Magneto!

It was awesome cos there were LOTS of X-men references of what was to come with the first 3 films. I really did love it. All in all, the perfect Monday. And you don't get too many of those!

In other news... there will be LOTS of changes coming soon for me. In my life and on the blog soon! Whoo! The blog you shall see soon enough :) and the changes in my life I'll explain once they are really in motion. But hope you'll stick around to see them ;)

Magic's in the Makeup!

Last night I had my makeup trial. I told my man "I want Kim Kardashian. Smokey eye, a nice bronzed look". At first it was ALOT of makeup on my face. Plus false lashes which I've never worn in my entire life. Then finally it started settling in and everyone LOVED it. I tried taking pictures of myself after everyone left and I started peeling half of one last off lol

So here's my pics.

If that ain't bronzed... I don't know what is! lol You can't see here too much but my eyes were FABULOUS! Amazing! Overall I am happy. It made me very souped. And the more pictures everone took of me and showed me, the more I was like YUP! Cos my makeup looks awesome in photos.

Speaking of photos, with 11 days til the wedding we FINALLY found a place to take pictures lol cutting it close aren't we?

We've had alot of rain these past couple days and we'll be having more so that stupid grass will continue to be nice and dewey. But whatever. [I also plan in the next couple days to buy a cute, huge umbrella incase Jose and I have to take some photos in the rain.. any suggestions?] Jose liked the park too almost immediately so YAY! for that too

I'm glad that now Jose is really helping me out in the last preparations before the wedding. My boss is helping me out too by only giving me 30 hours to work. Which sucks cos I get less money but fuck it, I need this shit to get done!

Crossed ALOT of stuff of our list this weekend, feeling very accomplished :) now got some more little things to do. See ya!
